Serp Tracker: Tracking Settings and Schedule
Tracking Settings & Schedule
Tracking Settings let you control how GTrack checks rankings for a specific campaign: the default location, how deep into search results to look, and when to automatically re-run tracking.
Opening Tracking Settings
From the Keywords page, click the gear icon (⚙) in the campaign header (next to the Competitors button). Alternatively, go to Manage campaigns and click the gear icon in that campaign's row.

Default Location
The Default Location is automatically applied to new keywords when you add them. You can still override it per keyword.
To change:
- Click the location search field and type a city, region, or country.
- Select a suggestion from the dropdown. The coordinates badge confirms it.
- Click Save Default Location.
You can also click Enter coordinates manually to expand Latitude/Longitude fields.
Why does location matter? Google shows different results depending on where the searcher is. Set your location to match your target audience.
Max SERP Pages (Search Depth)
This controls how many pages of Google results GTrack searches per keyword:
Value | Results checked | Use case |
|---|---|---|
1 | Up to 10 results | You only care about page 1 |
5 (default) | Up to 50 results | Balanced — pages 1–5 |
10 | Up to 100 results | Find all rankings, even deep ones |
Higher depth uses more scan credits. A setting of 5 is recommended for most campaigns. Click Save Tracking Settings after changing.
Tracking Schedule
The Tracking Schedule controls when GTrack automatically runs a tracking check for this campaign.

Setting | Options |
|---|---|
Frequency | Weekly, Daily, or Monthly |
Day of week | Monday–Sunday (for Weekly) |
Time of day | Hour in 24-hour format |
Timezone | Your timezone (UTC by default) |
Enabled | Toggle to pause or resume auto-tracking |
Click Save Schedule to apply changes.
Tip: Weekly is great for most campaigns. Use Daily when you've made significant site changes and want to track recovery closely.
Manual vs Scheduled Tracking
You can always trigger a run manually from the Keywords page using Run Tracking — this runs independently of the schedule.
