Serp Tracker: Search Performance and Opportunities (Google Search Console)

Search Performance

The Search Performance page connects your Google Search Console data directly inside GTrack. It shows how your site performs across all queries Google sends traffic for — not just the ones you're actively tracking.

Opening Search Performance

In the sidebar, click Search Performance under your campaign.

Syncing Your Data

  • Sync Ads Data — pulls keyword metrics from Google Ads (search volume, CPC, competition). Shows last sync date.
  • Refresh GSC Data — pulls the latest data from Google Search Console. GSC data has a ~2–3 day lag.

Shows every search query that brought impressions or clicks. Key features:

  • Filter queries and Exclude terms to narrow results
  • Copy Keywords — copies all visible queries to clipboard
  • +Track button — adds a query to your tracked keywords instantly
  • Tracked badge — shows queries already tracked with their current rank position

Pages

Every page on your site that appeared in Google Search, with Clicks, Impressions, CTR, and Position.

Countries

Performance by country — useful for international sites.

Devices

Performance split by Desktop, Mobile, and Tablet.

Search Appearance

Which Google SERP features your pages appeared in (Review Snippets, Product Snippets, etc.).

Days

Day-by-day Date, Clicks, Impressions, CTR, and Position table — great for spotting single-day spikes or drops.

Using Search Performance to Discover New Keywords

Browse the Queries tab, look for queries with high impressions but no tracking yet, then click +Track to add them. They'll appear in your Keywords table immediately.

Turning GSC Data into Action: Opportunities

Search Performance shows you what is happening. Opportunities tells you what to do about it. It analyses the same Google Search Console data and surfaces four categories of actionable insights: Quick Wins (close to page 1), CTR Gaps (under-performing snippets), Decay Detection (pages losing ground), and Cannibalization (multiple pages competing for the same query).

Opening Opportunities

In the sidebar, click Opportunities under your campaign.

Global Controls

Exclusions

Click Exclusions to open the keyword exclusions modal. Add terms to hide from all tabs (case-insensitive partial match). Useful for filtering branded queries, competitor names, or irrelevant terms.

Money Pages Only

Toggle Money pages only to restrict all tabs to pages you've tagged in Settings. Focuses your attention on your most valuable pages.

Quick Wins

What it is: Keywords where your site ranks positions 4–20 with significant impressions. A small improvement here could move you to the top of page 1.

Columns: Query, Position, Impressions, Clicks, CTR, Top Page

How to use it:

  1. Sort by Impressions to find the highest-visibility queries
  2. Focus on positions 6–15 — these are closest to a top-5 result
  3. Improve the content on the "Top Page" — better structure, more depth, tighter targeting

Copy button — copies all visible queries to your clipboard for content briefs or spreadsheets.

CTR Gaps

What it is: Queries where your actual CTR is below expectations for your ranking position. Signals that your title tag or meta description isn't compelling — or a SERP feature is stealing clicks.

Columns: Query, Position, Actual CTR, Expected CTR, Gap %, Impressions

How to use it:

  1. Sort by Gap % to find biggest underperformers
  2. Rewrite the title and meta description for the ranking page
  3. Check if a Featured Snippet or People Also Ask box is pushing your result below the fold

Decay Detection

What it is: Pages losing impressions compared to the previous period. Catch declining pages before they fall off page 1.

Time filter: Compare 7, 14, or 28-day periods.

Columns: Page URL, Trend sparkline, Impressions Now, Impressions Before, ΔImpressions, Position Now

How to use it:

  1. Look for large negative ΔImpressions
  2. Update outdated content — refresh statistics, examples, or add new sections
  3. Check if a competitor recently published a stronger article on the same topic

Cannibalization

What it is: Queries where multiple pages on your site compete for the same ranking, diluting your ranking power.

Columns: Query, Pages count, Impressions, Winning Page

How to use it:

  1. Find queries with 3+ pages competing
  2. Pick one page as the primary page for that query
  3. Merge or redirect weaker pages into the primary one, or add canonical tags
  4. Update internal links to all point to the chosen page

Tips

  • Start with Quick Wins — fastest results with the least effort
  • Use Exclusions to remove noise before digging in
  • Revisit monthly to measure the impact of your optimizations
