Serp Tracker: Managing Keywords and Groups

Managing Keywords

The Keywords page is the core of your SERP Tracker campaign. This is where you add, view, filter, and manage every keyword you want to track.

Opening the Keywords Page

In the sidebar, click your campaign name then select Keywords.

The Campaign Header

At the top of the Keywords page you'll see:

  • Campaign name and domain
  • GSC badge — shows the linked Google Search Console property
  • Active badge — confirms the campaign is running
  • Serp credits button — click to see a popup with your credit usage breakdown
  • Run Tracking dropdown — triggers a tracking run immediately
  • Competitors button — navigates to the Competitors page
  • Settings gear — opens Tracking Settings for this campaign

Running a Tracking Check

Click Run Tracking to open a dropdown with two options:

  • All keywords — checks rankings for every keyword in the campaign

  • Bulk add — opens the Bulk Add modal

When keywords selected:

  • Run tracking - runs serp tracker now for selected keywords
  • **Move ( x ) to folder **- move keywords from current folder to a different one.
  • Copy data - copy to clipboard serp data of selected keywords

Selecting & Removing Keywords

Check the checkbox next to any keyword to select it. A red Delete ( x ) button appears in the toolbar when keywords are selected.

Opening a Keyword's Detail Page

Click any keyword name in the table to open its individual detail page with ranking history, metrics, and SERP results.

Organizing Keywords with Groups

Once your keyword list grows past a dozen or so, grouping them by topic or page section keeps the Keywords table readable. Groups (also called folders) let you create named tabs across the top of the Keywords page and assign every keyword to one of them.

Viewing Folders

Folders appear as tabs below the campaign header on the Keywords page. A Default tab always exists. Custom folders you create appear as additional tabs.

Switching Between Groups

Click any tab to filter the keyword table to show only keywords in that group.

Creating a New Group

Click the + Add tab at the end of the tab bar. An inline text field appears — type your group name and press Enter or click the checkmark to confirm. The new group appears immediately as an empty tab.

Renaming a Group

Click the "..." tab that appears between your last custom group and the Add tab. A small menu appears with Rename and Delete options. Click Rename, edit the name in the inline field, and confirm.

Assigning Keywords to Groups

When adding a keyword (single or bulk), choose your group from the Folder dropdown in the Add Keyword or Bulk Add modal.

Why Use Groups?

  • Track keywords for different products, services, or page types separately
  • Compare performance across site sections
  • Keep test keywords isolated from your main tracked set
