How to Use the Post Scheduler in GLocal

The Content Scheduler helps you manage and organise everything you publish to your Google Business Profile in one place.
As soon as you connect a Google Business Profile, GLocal automatically imports all of your existing posts.
The section has three tabs:

  • Posts — create and manage your Google Business posts: updates, offers and events
  • Media Poster — publish photos and videos to your profile automatically, on a schedule
  • Media Gallery — the library where your photos and videos are stored

How the three tabs work together

  1. Your files are uploaded once, into the Media Gallery.
  2. In Posts then you can add the uploaded media for your posts, and Media Poster publishes them on a repeating schedule.

Everything belongs to one business profile
Posts, the posting schedule and the gallery all belong to the business profile selected at the top of the screen.
Switch profile and you are looking at a different gallery, with different files and a different schedule. A photo uploaded for one business is not available to another.

1. Scheduler → Posts

The Posts tab displays all of the Google Business posts related to your profile:

  • Previously published posts imported from Google
  • New posts created in GLocal
  • Posts scheduled to be published later

1. View your posts as a calendar or as cards

Two buttons at the top right switch the view (Pin 1)
Calendar view shows one month at a time. Each post appears as a coloured chip on the day it was published or is due. Use the arrows to move between months, and Today to come back.
Grid view shows the posts as cards. A slider next to the view buttons makes the cards larger or smaller.

2. What each post card shows

In grid view, each post appears as a card that displays: (Pin 2)

  • Post preview image or video — the media used in the Google post
  • Post status — Live, Scheduled, Draft or Rejected
  • Post type — Update, Offer or Event
  • Post description — the text of the post, shortened with Show more
  • Posting date and time
  • Post actions — an edit pencil and a delete bin

3. Filter posts by status

A row of status filters sits above the posts, each showing how many posts it holds (Pin 3)

How to Create and schedule a GBP Post in GLocal

Click Create post at the top right of the Posts tab.
The post is created on a full page, with the business you are posting to shown on the left under Posting To, and a Live preview on the right that fills in as you write.

Step 1 — Choose how you want to write the post

Two options sit at the top left:

  • Manual — write and schedule the post yourself.
  • Agentic — chat with the AI, which drafts and publishes the post with you step by step.

The steps below describe Manual mode. Agentic mode is covered at the end of this section.

Step 2 — Select the post type

  • Update — what's new at your business: news, new products, photos, announcements
  • Offer — a discount or promotion
  • Event — a date-bound announcement such as a workshop, tasting or launch

Depending on the type selected there will be more options available.
Update — is the simplest version where you can write the content, add media, choose a call to action and schedule the post.
Event — on top of that adds period from when it starts and when is finished.
Offer — adds options to introduce — terms, coupon code and link to redeem offer.

If the wrong business is selected, click Switch location.

Step 3 — Write the content, or generate it with AI

Type your post in the Content box, up to 1500 characters.
To have it written for you, click Generate with AI. An AI Assistant strip opens below the box with two dropdowns:

  • Category — Promotional, Educational, Engagement, Seasonal or event, or Custom
  • Type — Depending on the category selected different types will be displayed.

Click Generate and the text appears in the Content box, where you can edit it before publishing.
Customise the AI prompt — at the right of the AI Assistant strip, opens the instructions the AI follows. You can customise the prompt and add variables by your preffrence.

Step 4 — Add your media

In the Media card, click Add media from Gallery and choose a photo or video.

Step 5 — Add a call-to-action button

In the Call to action card, choose a Button to appear beneath your post on Google. Leave it as None and no button is shown.

Step 6 — Publish or schedule the post

  • Schedule Post — the date and time the post should go live. Leave it empty to publish immediately.
  • Timezone — so the post publishes at the correct local time.

Then choose one of the buttons at the bottom of the page:

  • Save draft — keeps the post without publishing it. It appears under the Draft filter.
  • Publish now — publishes the post, or schedules it if you set a date.

If something required is missing, a note at the bottom left tells you what — for example Fix to publish: Post content.

Writing the post with AI instead (Agentic mode)

Select Agentic at the top left and the page becomes a conversation. GLocal asks what kind of post you are creating, offering Update, Offer and Event as buttons, then asks what it is about — a few words are enough — and drafts it for you.
A step line across the top shows where you are: post type, draft, media, button, timing. Restart begins again from the first question.
Always review an AI draft before publishing
The page carries its own warning: AI can make mistakes. Review the draft before publishing.
Check prices, dates, opening times and anything the post promises on your behalf.

Viewing and managing scheduled posts

A scheduled post appears in the Content Scheduler with the status Scheduled, and on the calendar on the day it is due. From there you can see its preview, check the date and time it will be published, edit it, or delete it. Deleting a scheduled post cancels it, and it will not be published on Google.

2. Scheduler → Media Poster

The Media Poster publishes photos and videos to your Google Business Profile automatically.
You choose which files to queue and how often they should go out, and GLocal publishes them for you. At the top of the page we have all the actions we can perform with the media cards below.

2. Media type & Category filter

Two filters presented as a dropdown menu: (Pin 2)

  • Media type filter — shown as All, Photos, Videos
  • Category filter — shows different available categories that could be asigned to the media cards.

3. Select All

A button used to quickly select all the media on the page. (Pin 3)

It selects the number of media cards displayed on the current page only, so if you want to select more media you have to scroll down and press Load More button.

After checking box selection a menu will appear down the page with available action options:
Set category — sets the category for all selected media.
Post next — (available only for media that is not yet posted) queues the media into the posting schedule.
Delete — deletes the selected media cards
Clear — clears the selection

4. Schedule Media

Select your media for scheduled posts. (Pin 4)
Presented alongside with the information about available vs total media storage the Schedule Media button is used to choose the media you would like to schedule and post.

Firstly adjust all the settings for a schedule in the Scheduler Settings as after choosing the media it will be automatically scheduled on existing settings.

5. Scheduler settings

Presented as expandable Posting Schedule panel — this is the only place where we have all the controls over our scheduler settings. (Pin 5)

  • Photos (Pin 6) — how many, and whether that is per day, per week or per month
  • Videos (Pin 7) — the same, set separately from photos
  • Time (Pin8) — the time of day the media is published
  • Timezone (Pin 9) — so it publishes at the correct local time

In separate tabs we have:

  • Up next (Pin 10) — what is queued and which item publishes next
  • Categories on Google (Pin 11) — how the media is filed on Google, and how many items have no category

Media cards

Each item is presented as Video or Photo media card that displays:

  • Type icon — Photo or Video
  • Status badge — Scheduled, Live or Failed
  • Category pill — chosed category, reading Set category until you choose one
  • Date — when it was posted, or when it is due
  • Actions — Post now on a scheduled item, Retry on a failed one, and a delete bin on every card
  • Checkbox — for multiple selection.
Clicking a card opens it in full, with arrows to move through the rest of your media. The panel shows its Type and Size, its Category dropdown, and Post now. A scheduled item also shows Goes out with its date and time.

How to Schedule a Media Post in GLocal

Step 1 — Setup the Posting Schedule

Sets up the posting frequency, time and timezone:

  1. How many photos will be posted — per day, per week, per month
  2. How many videos will be posted — per day, per week, per month
  3. Time of the day at it will be posted
  4. Timezone which will be considered

Step 2 — Choose your media

Press the Schedule Media blue button
The pop-up dialog appears with two tabs:

  • Gallery — tick the files you want from your Media Gallery. Select all takes everything, and the button counts your selection.
  • Upload — add new files. They are uploaded to your Media Gallery and then queued.

File size limits
JPG and PNG up to 5 MB, and MP4 and MOV up to 75 MB. Resize large photos before uploading.

Step 3 — Schedule

After choosing the media, press Schedule to add it and start the scheduler automaation, which follows the settings from the Posting schedule panel.

There is no date field in this dialog. You select the files; the Posting schedule decides when each one goes out.
So six photos queued against a schedule of one per week is six weeks of content, published without you opening the tab again.

When media fails to publish

If Google refuses an item, a red banner appears at the top of the tab with the reason, and the card is marked Failed. The banner offers two buttons:

  • Review — opens the item so you can see what went wrong
  • Retry now — tries to publish it again

Read the reason before retrying.
A file that was too large or the wrong format would have been refused at upload. Media that reaches this tab and then fails was refused by Google, so retrying it unchanged will usually fail the same way.
Screenshot 7The Review dialog on a failed item, with the red failure banner visible behind it. Pins: the arrows, Type and Size, the error message, the Category dropdown, and Post now.

The Media Gallery is where your photos and videos are stored.
Every file used by a Post or by the Media Poster lives here, and this is the only place files are uploaded, organized or deleted.

1. Upload media

To upload photos and videos to your Media Gallery follow the next steps:

  1. Click the Upload media (Pin 1) bar to expand it.
  2. Hit + Choose Files to select the files from your computer.
  3. Upload selected media — once selected you can Add more, Upload selection, Cancel

While you are in the Upload Media panel:

  • The files selected have a green tick if it is valid or red warning if it is not accepted — for example because of the file size.
  • A count appears beside your storage with the pending figure is what this batch will add — for example 1 photo ready · Pending upload: 393.72 KB.
  • The figure in brackets is the storage you have used so far and the total amount of storage available.

Track your position if you are navigating through different folders — see the Path Bar at the top of the page.

If you are in a folder while uploading — the files will land in that specific folder.

2. Manage and Organize files

Use Folders for a better internal organization. Click New Folder (Pin 2) to create one.
To organize the files you can click on them individually or tick the check boxes.

  1. Click on an individual file to open it — the panel beside it shows the Type, Size, when it was Uploaded and it will offer:
  • Download and Copy link
  • Move to folder
  • Rename
  • Delete
  1. Tick the check box for multiple selection — a menu will appear down the page with option to:
  • Move to folder
  • Delete
  • Clear

Check for the "In use" badge before deleting

You cannot delete the files that are in use - firstly you have to delete the post itself.

3. Collect media from a Client

To collect media from your clients to upload it directly to the gallery use our Share button. (Pin 3)

  1. Click Share at the top right of the Media Gallery.

This creates a link that lets someone upload photos and videos into your gallery without a GLocal account — useful when the pictures you need are on a client's phone.

  1. Fill in the link details.
  • Link name — how you will recognize it in your own list
  • Uploads go to — the folder the files should land in
  • Link expires — a date, or Never expires
  1. Create the link.

This will create an Active Link that you can share with your clients so they can upload media remotely to a selected folder.
Under Active links, each link shows its folder, its expiry and when it was last used, with Copy link to send it again and a Delete bin to revoke it.

Nothing reaches your profile unapproved.

Files sent through an upload link wait in Pending review. They are not published and not used by the Media Poster until you approve them.
