Understanding Analytics Dashboard
Understand Your Google Business Profile Performance
The Analytics Dashboard in GLocal helps you understand how customers discover and interact with your Google Business Profile.
GLocal collects performance data directly from Google Business Profile Insights and displays it in a simple dashboard.
GLocal can retrieve up to 18 months of historical data, which is the maximum period available through the Google Business Profile API.
The Analytics section contains three tabs:
- Metrics — profile interactions and search activity
- Keywords — search queries used to find your business
- Reviews Keywords & Sentiment — keywords and sentiment extracted from customer reviews
1. Metrics — Business Profile Interactions
The Metrics tab shows how users find and interact with your Google Business Profile.
At the top of the page you can select the date range to analyze performance, choose a period to compare it against, and use the Export button to download the data.
- Date range chips (Pin 1) — the current month, three rolling ranges and All Time. The ranges shift as the months pass, so the chips read differently depending on when you look.
- More (Pin 2) — opens the date range dialog which holds the Filter and Compare tabs.
- Compare (Pin 3) — the period every figure on the page is measured against. It reads Compare: Previous month by default, and the ✕ switches the comparison off.
- Export (Pin 4) — downloads the selected data as a CSV file straight away.
Set up the comparison view. More opens a dialog with two tabs:
- The Filter tab sets the period you are looking at. It lists the same ranges as the chips, plus Custom Range for any two dates you choose.
- The Compare tab decides what every change figure on the page is measured against:
Option | What it does |
|---|---|
None | Shows the selected period on its own — no change figures and no comparison lines |
Previous month | Measures against the month before. This is the default |
Previous year | Measures against the same period a year earlier |
Business Profile Interactions
This section shows the actions customers take on your Google Business Profile: (Pin 5)
- Total Profile Interactions — the total number of actions users performed on your profile during the selected period.
- Directions — the number of users who clicked Directions to navigate to your business.
- Website Cliks — how many users clicked the Website link on your profile.
- Phone Calls — the number of users who clicked the Call button from your business profile.
- Food Menu Clicks — how many users opened your Menu, if one is available.
Business Interaction Trend
Below the metrics cards you will see a graph showing interaction trends over time. (Pin 6)
At the top of the chart you will see selectable metric buttons (Pin 7). Each line represents a type of action:
- Directions
- Website Clicks
- Phone Calls
- Food Menu Clicks
Google usually provides interaction data with a delay of about 2–3 days, so the most recent days may not yet display full data.

When a comparison is set, the chart draws it too (Pin 9): solid lines are the period you selected, dashed lines are the comparison period, and the legend names them with (compare).
Platform & Device Breakdown
This section shows where your searches come from — how many times your business appeared in Google, rather than what people did next. (Pin 1)
It is laid out exactly like the interactions block above it: a row of cards, then a trend chart.
Total Searches is the total number of times your business appeared in Google Search or Google Maps results, and the four cards beside it break that total down:
- Desktop Search — users who discovered your business in Google Search on desktop devices.
- Desktop Maps — users who found your business in Google Maps on desktop.
- Mobile Search — users who discovered your business through Google Search on mobile devices.
- Mobile Maps — users who found your business directly in Google Maps on mobile.
For most local businesses, mobile maps searches are the largest traffic source.
Platform & Device trend
The Platform & Device trend chart shows same data but in a graph. (pin 2)
It works exactly like the interactions chart — the same clickable metric buttons over the four surfaces (Pin 3), the same Line and Stacked Bar options (Pin 4), the same dashed comparison lines (Pin 5).
These analytics help you understand:
- how customers find your business
- what actions they take
- which channels generate the most engagement
This helps you improve your Google Business Profile performance and track growth over time.

2. Keywords — Google Business Profile Keywords
The Keywords tab shows the search queries that customers used to find your Google Business Profile on Google Search and Google Maps.
At the top you can select the Date range (Pin 1) and the Comparison period (Pin 2), and Export the data (Pin 3). The bar is the same one as on the Metrics tab and works in exactly the same way.
The Search Intelligence card shows two key metrics:
- Total Profile Visits from Search (Pin 4) — the total number of visits to your Google Business Profile generated from search queries.
- Unique Keywords (Pin 5) — the number of different search terms that triggered your business listing.
Keyword Trends
Below the summary metrics you will see the keyword trend filters (Pin 6). Beside that Search keywords finds a single term (Pin 7).
Keywords are automatically grouped into four categories:
Filter | Meaning |
|---|---|
Growing | Keywords generating more visits than before |
Declining | Keywords that are losing search visibility |
New | Keywords that recently started bringing traffic |
Stable | Keywords with consistent performance |
GBP Keywords List
The keyword list shows the top search queries bringing customers to your business. (Pin 8)
Each keyword appears as a card and shows:
- A trend arrow — green rising, red falling, a grey dash for a stable keyword
- The search term — exactly as customers typed it, in whatever language they used
- The number of profile visits generated in the selected period
- The percentage change in traffic against your comparison period. Stable keywords show no percentage
Twelve keywords are shown at a time; Show all opens the rest (Pin 9).

3. Reviews Keywords & Sentiment — Insights from Google Reviews
The Reviews Keywords & Sentiment tab analyses the text from your Google Business Profile reviews.
GLocal uses AI to extract important words and phrases from customer reviews, helping you understand what customers talk about most when reviewing your business.
Review Sentiment Trend
This section shows the sentiment of your reviews over time.
Three boxes at the top (Pin 1) count your reviews by how they read, and reviews are automatically categorized into three sentiment types:
- Positive — reviews expressing satisfaction or praise
- Neutral — reviews with balanced or mixed feedback
- Negative — reviews expressing complaints or dissatisfaction
The chart below displays how many reviews of each sentiment were posted over time (Pin 2), allowing you to quickly identify changes in customer satisfaction.
The chart legend carries a fourth line beside those three (Pin 3):
- Unprocessed — reviews that carry no sentiment label yet

Review Keywords
This section displays the most common keywords extracted from your reviews.
At the top you will see:
- Unique keywords (Pin 1) — the number of different keywords extracted from reviews
- Total keyword mentions (Pin 2) — the total number of times those keywords appear in reviews
Below the Review panels all the keywords are listed showing:
- the keyword or phrase mentioned by customers (Pin 3)
- the number of times it appears in reviews (Pin 4)
The list is ordered by count, so the first rows are what customers mention most.
Ten rows are shown at a time — Show 10 more adds a page and Show all opens the full list (Pin 5).

You're All Set
You have now learned how to use the Analytics Dashboard in GLocal. With these three tabs you can:
- see what customers do on your profile, and which device and surface they came from
- find the search terms that bring them to you, and which of those are growing or declining
- read what those customers say about you, and how their sentiment moves over time
