How to Create a Competitor Report in GTrack


The Competitor Report in GTrack helps you analyze how other businesses rank for the same keywords in your scan area.

It shows you their rankings, visibility, reviews, categories, and even ad activity.

With this report, you can identify strengths and weaknesses in your market and adjust your local SEO strategy accordingly.

Follow these steps to generate and view your competitor report.



Step 1. Log in to GTrack


  • Open your dashboard.
  • In the left menu, click My Scans.




Step 2. Go to My Scans


  • You will see a table with all scans. Select the Scan to view details.
  • You can choose the Scan Type: Maps **(Google Maps results) or Local **(Local Pack results)


  • Click View Details on the right of the scan.
  • This opens the results page that we will use to build the Competitor Report.




Step 3. Open Scan Details


  • After selecting View Details from your scan list, you will see the Map View tab.
  • Here you will see the pins of your scan results.
  • Click on any of the pins to view detailed ranking information.




Step 4. View Competitors


  • Once you click on a pin, a panel will open showing all competitors for that location ranking for the same keyword.
  • Each competitor is listed with their business name, address, reviews, and ranking position.
  • To generate a detailed competitor report, click the green "Competitor Report" button next to the competitor you want to analyze.




Step 5. Open the Competitor Report


The report will open in a shareable link, where you will find all the details of your selected competitor.


  • At the top, you will see the competitor name, the keyword used, and their average ranking.
  • The map shows all the pins with how the competitor ranks for the same keyword across the same grid range you used for your business.
  • On the left side down, a popup shows full details about the competitor, including their ranking distribution.
  • At the top of the report, you will also find a list of tabs that we will check and explain in this tutorial (Business Comparison, Scan Analysis, Top Competitors, Ads Analysis).



  • You can also click on any pin on the map to see the detailed ranking results for that exact location.




Step 6. Business Comparison


In the Business Comparison tab, you can compare your selected competitor with all other businesses in the scan.


  • On the left side, you’ll see a list of businesses included in the scan, along with:
  • Their ranking distribution
  • Best position achieved
  • Visibility in the Top 20 results
  • On the right, the map view updates with ranking pins to show how these businesses perform across the same grid.
  • This view makes it easy to identify which competitors dominate the area and which ones have weaker visibility.




Step 7. Scan Analysis


In the Scan Analysis tab, you will find a full breakdown of your competitor’s performance across the scan grid.


  • The Executive Summary highlights the average ranking, rating comparison, and grid coverage.
  • Key Insights summarize market competition, top 3 and top 10 presence, and overall visibility.
  • The Competitive Landscape Overview shows competitor stats such as business addresses, website presence, and review volume.



Competitor Market Insights

Here you will see important insights about the overall market, including:

  • Market leaders
  • Coverage and rating leaders
  • Average reviews and website presence
  • Competitor categories and overall competitiveness



Performance Matrix

The Performance Matrix compares the main competitor with others in the area, showing:

  • Average ranking
  • Appearances across the grid
  • Top 3 presence percentage
  • Ratings, reviews, and market share



Category Analysis

This section breaks down how competitors are distributed across categories.

  • Each category lists the top competitors and their rankings.
  • Helps you identify which categories dominate the local search results.



Step 8. Top Competitors


In the Top Competitors tab, you will see a full analysis of the main competitors in your scan.


  • At the top, you’ll find a summary showing:
  • Total competitors detected
  • Average rating
  • How many competitors have websites and phone numbers
  • Below that, Key Competitive Insights highlight the strongest competitor by visibility, review volume, and most common categories.



Competitor Appearance Frequency


This chart shows how often each competitor appears in the search results across the scan grid.

  • You can view the data in either Bar Chart or Pie Chart format.
  • Helps identify which businesses dominate the search landscape.



Detailed Competitor Breakdown


This table gives an in-depth look at each competitor, including:

  • Frequency of appearance
  • Average ranking
  • Rating and review count
  • Top 3 and Top 10 presence
  • Direct links to their website and contact info



Step 9. Ads Analysis


In the Ads Analysis tab, you will see insights about local businesses running ads for the selected keyword.


  • At the top, you’ll find a summary with:
  • The most seen advertiser
  • Ad coverage across grid points
  • The number of unique advertisers
  • Competition density (average advertisers per grid point)


  • Below, you can view a list of advertisers with details such as:
  • Business name and categories
  • Rating and reviews
  • Number of appearances
  • Contact info, location, and opening hours


Export Options


  • The Ads Analysis section can be exported separately in CSV format.
  • You can also export the entire Competitor Report in PDF, PNG, or CSV, or share it via a public share link.



Conclusion


The Competitor Report gives you a complete view of how your competitors perform in local search.


  • You can see ranking distribution across the grid,
  • Compare businesses in the Business Comparison tab,
  • Dive into detailed insights with Scan Analysis,
  • Understand the strongest players with Top Competitors,
  • And check who is investing in paid ads with Ads Analysis.


Finally, you can export the report in PDF, PNG, or CSV format, or share it with a direct link.


This makes the Competitor Report a powerful tool for understanding the market, tracking your rivals, and improving your own local SEO strategy.
