GTrack’s Scan Analysis gives you a powerful visual and data-rich overview of how your business is performing on Google Maps — and how you stack up against local competitors.

Whether you're viewing results from a single scan (My Scans) or a Scheduled Scan, the layout and insights are the same.


Step 1: Open Single Scan Analysis


  • For manual scans: Go to My Scans, then click on your Business name or the **View Details **button.





➡️ Click “View Details” on the right side for each scan to open the results and see how your business ranks for that specific keyword across the selected grid.

Check the results one by one to understand your visibility for every keyword.




Step 2: Analyze Your Results


Map View Tab


In the Map View tab, you can explore how your business ranks across the selected grid.

Each pin shows your ranking position for the chosen keyword.


  • Green numbers mean strong rankings (top positions).
  • Orange numbers show weaker visibility further from your location.
  • Clicking on any pin will open the detailed results for that exact spot.



Here, you’ll see:

  • Your business highlighted in the results list
  • Competing businesses for the same keyword


Quick actions:

  • Access quick links to View on Google
  • New Scan – instantly run a new scan centered on this competitor
  • Track – start monitoring this competitor in your Competitor Tracking list

Comparison View Tab


Switch to the Comparison View tab to compare your business rankings against nearby competitors on the same map.

This view gives you a detailed, side-by-side look at how every business in the scan performs in each grid location.


View All Ranked Businesses

The left panel shows a full list of businesses detected in the scan.

Each one displays:

  • Their average rank across the grid
  • Their best ranking position
  • How many times they appeared in the Top 20
  • Their visibility percentage across the grid
  • Their review rating and total review count


You can click on any business in the list to highlight their rankings across the map.


Example: Exploring a Competitor

When you select a competitor from the list, the map updates to show their exact rankings across the grid.

You’ll also see updated statistics, such as:

  • Their average rank and distribution of top positions
  • Areas where they have no visibility
  • A donut chart showing visibility distribution (High, Medium, Low)



This makes it easy to evaluate how strong a competitor is across your shared service area - and where they are weaker or stronger than you.

By comparing rankings visually and numerically, you can quickly identify who your biggest competitors are and which zones you still dominate.




Scan Analysis Tab


The Scan Analysis tab provides an executive summary and deeper insights into your business performance compared to competitors.


Executive Summary

At the top, you’ll see a snapshot of key stats:

  • Average Ranking – your average rank across all grid points
  • Rating Comparison – your reviews vs competitors
  • Grid Coverage – total scan area and grid size
  • Total Reviews – how many reviews your business has





Competitive Ranking Distribution

See how your competitors are distributed:

  • Number of businesses with addresses, websites, or social media links
  • Total coverage within the scanned grid
  • Insights into market leadership, categories, and ranking volatility





Performance Matrix

Compare all competitors side by side:

  • Average rank
  • Appearances in grid points
  • Top 3% presence
  • Ratings and total reviews





Review Comparison

Analyze competitors based on review scores and volume.

This helps you understand which businesses dominate customer perception and reputation.



Category Analysis

Break down rankings by business category:

  • Average rank, rating, and market share for each category
  • Top competitors in each category (e.g., bakery, coffee shop, restaurant)
  • Helps identify which categories are most competitive in your area




Top Competitors Tab


The Top Competitors tab highlights the strongest businesses in your area and gives you a breakdown of their strengths.


Competitor Overview

At the top, you’ll see:

  • Total competitors analyzed
  • Average competitor rating
  • How many have websites and phone numbers




Appearance Frequency

Visualize how often competitors appear across the scanned grid.

You can switch between Bar and Pie chart views.




Detailed Competitor Breakdown

See a table with each competitor’s:

  • Appearance frequency
  • Average ranking
  • Reviews and ratings
  • Top 3 and Top 10 presence
  • Contact details (website, phone number)




Key Competitive Insights

This section gives you quick, actionable insights:

  • Who your strongest competitor is
  • Which competitors have the highest ratings
  • How many consistently rank in the Top 5




Share, Monitor, and Optimize with One Click


Once your scan is complete and you’ve explored all the tabs (Map View, Comparison View, Scan Analysis, and Top Competitors), you can take action directly from the top right of the interface.


These tools help you share your results, track changes over time, and enhance your local SEO with AI insights.




Step 3: Open Scheduled Scan Analysis



  • Go to Scheduled Scans, then click the View History icon 📈.



📊 View Scan History


  1. Click the View History 📷 icon on your scheduled scan card to open the full scan timeline and results history.


Here’s what you’ll see:


  • A scrollable timeline at the top - select any date to view scan results from that specific day.
  • The map view displays pin rankings for each scan point, color-coded by performance.


✅ You can select each keyword from the dropdown to view its results and ranking distribution individually.




📌 The Scheduled Scan Report gives you a full view of how your business performs in local search compared to competitors.

With insights on rankings, reviews, categories, and competitor strength, you can track progress over time and take action to stay ahead.


Click on any pin to view full Google Maps results for that exact location:

📊 Step 4: Business Comparison Tab


Inside the Shared Scan report, viewers can switch to the Business Comparison tab.

This section compares your business performance against competitors in the scanned area.


What’s included:

  • List of businesses detected in the scan area
  • Ranking positions for each competitor
  • Visibility metrics such as:
  • Best position achieved
  • How many times the business appeared in the Top 20
  • Overall visibility percentage


On the right side, the interactive map updates to show how each business ranks across the grid.


This makes it easy for clients to see not only their own rankings but also how they perform compared to local competitors.




📑 Step 5: Scan Analysis Tab


The Scan Analysis tab provides a deeper breakdown of your performance, competitor benchmarks, and market trends.

This section is especially useful for client reporting and agency insights.

  • Average Ranking – Shows your overall average rank across all grid points
  • Rating Comparison – Compares your Google rating with the average competitor rating
  • Grid Coverage – Displays the grid size (e.g., 9x9) and area covered in km²
  • Key Insights – Highlights competitor count, top 3 and top 10 visibility, and market position strength



📌 2. Competitive Landscape Overview

  • Business Addresses – Number of competitors with full addresses
  • Website Presence – How many competitors have websites or social media
  • Review Volume – Number of competitors with significant review counts
  • Competitor Market Insights – Key notes like dominant competitors, high-rating leaders, coverage percentages, and most common categories



📌 3. Performance Matrix

  • Compares your business directly against top competitors
  • Columns include:
  • Average Rank across the grid
  • Appearances (how many locations you show up in)
  • Top 3% presence
  • Ratings & Reviews count
  • Market Share % – based on scan coverage



📌 4. Category Analysis

  • Groups competitors by Google Business Profile categories (e.g., Supermarket, Cafe, Bakery)
  • Shows how many competitors exist in each category
  • Lists the top competitors per category with their rankings
  • Helps identify category-level competition and positioning

The Top Competitors tab gives a focused analysis of the main businesses competing with you in the scan area.

  • Total Competitors – Number of unique businesses found in the scan
  • Average Rating – Competitors’ average Google rating
  • Websites & Phone Numbers – Percentage of competitors with contact details
  • Key Competitive Insights – Highlights the strongest competitor, the most common categories, review leaders, and website/phone availability



📌 2. Appearance Frequency

  • Bar chart showing how often each competitor appears in search results across the grid
  • Example: The Smart Bakery appears in 100% of search results
  • Helps identify market leaders who dominate visibility



📌 3. Detailed Competitor Breakdown

  • Full competitor list with detailed stats:
  • Ranking Frequency (% of times they show up)
  • Average Ranking across the grid
  • Rating & Review counts
  • Top 3 & Top 10 visibility
  • Contact info (website, phone)


This breakdown shows not only who your top competitors are, but also how they perform and where they have weaknesses.

At the top of every Shared Scan report, viewers can access additional reporting tools:


  • 📊 Rankings – Opens a detailed table of all keywords and rankings
  • 📈 Progress – Shows ranking trends over time, helping track improvements or declines
  • 📉 Compare – Allows comparison of multiple scans (useful for spotting changes across dates or different businesses)




📑 Step 8: Rankings Report


The Rankings Report gives a complete timeline of how your keywords perform across all scheduled scans.

This helps track changes over time and spot ranking improvements or declines.


What’s included:

  • Keyword List – All the keywords being tracked in your scheduled scan
  • Current Ranking – Shows your latest average position for each keyword
  • Change Column – Indicates positive or negative movement since the last scan
  • Trend Graphs – Small line charts that visualize performance history for each keyword
  • Daily Ranking Data – Each scan date is shown in a table format, so you can review exact positions on any given day


Filters available:

  • Last 7 days
  • Last 28 days
  • Last 3 months
  • Custom Range
  • All Time view


Export Options:

  • Export CSV – Download all ranking data for deeper analysis or client reporting

  • Best Ranking – The highest position achieved during the selected period

  • Choose 2 or 3 scans from the calendar
  • Dates with available scans are highlighted
  • Click Compare Selected to generate the comparison report

  • Each pin represents your position for that keyword on the specific date
  • Helps visualize ranking improvements or declines across the entire grid

  • Keyword
